rsvp for the famine and talent show

Hear ye, hear ye!!!! Read ALL about it!!!! Parents of the youth group at Shalom, I present to you 2 great events to be a part of (and your child) on June 1 and June 2. Both of these events require your rsvp and talents... June 1-2 from 6pm-4pm is our 30 HOUR FAMINE event all happening at church. Please read the 30 hour famine post below to hear more. P.S. A note about fasting. this event does ask all participants to fast from food for 30 hours. If there is any reason your child can not do this due to concerns or health reasons do not let that stop them from coming. We will have snacks and food for those who need to eat. RSVP to me, Ryan, and let me know if your child can come as soon as possible so we can have a very successful event that weekend. .......... June 2 at 6pm will be the Shalom TALENT SHOW. This is our fundraiser to be bale to go on a missions trip this summer on July 22-25. This is always a blast and is open to everyone to sign up and present your talent. 30 hour famine. June 1-2

All youth and families of shalom, 30 hour famine. June 1-2 The 30 hour famine is all about loving the hungry and raising money to fight hunger. The event is a 30 hour journey, all happening at church, that involves going hungry for 30 hours to experience and learn more about hunger happening around the world. World Vision does an awesome job helping us to put this event on and the youth group over the past 6 years has raised over 5,000 which feeds children around the world for 5,000 days. The your regroup is invited to participate by: 1. Fundraising in person or online 2. Fasting from food for 30 hours, as long as they are physically able. Please do not stop your child from coming to this event, snacks can be provided if that is your fear. 3. Learning about hunger through games, videos, role play game called TRIBE, cardboard hotel, and service projects. Check em out online to learn more... snow tubing and serving food

the time has come... your winter snow tubing trip as a thank you for all of your hard work in the shalom family dinner theatre.

the youth group is going snow tubing at wintergreen
friday night, february 24, 7-9pm. meet at the church at 5.15 pm and we will return by 11 pm.

also the youth have been asked to serve food at the trailer fundraising dinner at church. the trailer will serve as a youth / childrens space so lets help out. february 19 from 630-730pm

Attention Parents and Youth,
Shalom Youth Group is going to the Acquire the Fire youth Conference in Richmond, VA this January 27-28@ the Coliseum! All 6th-12th graders are welcome to join us for this great weekend.. The theme is
Normals Not Enough as your teen will experience 27 hours of encountering Jesus with bands, thousands of teens, and powerful Christian speakers...it will be mind blowing.

In order to come we ask for the following:
$30 paid in full by Sunday, January 22 at Sunday School or church (please make checks payable to Shalom Baptist Church)
A completed Shalom medical form for 2012 if you did not already give us one at our Rock climbing event earlier this school year
Bring personal cash for 2 meals and merchandise to the event

Please meet us at the church and pick up your child from the church.
We will be spending the night in our own homes on Friday night. Parents plan for pick up around 10.30pm Fri. If you need any more information visit www.acquirethefire.com.
